Abstract

In 2010 driven by the replacement effect in the commercial market and the relatively positive economic performance compared to that in 2009, the global total PC market volume is expected to have returned to the double-digit growth rate achieved in the pre-recession period and is estimated to see its full-year market volume reach nearly 300 million units in 2010. In Taiwan, brand-name vendors continue to outsource orders to Taiwanese manufacturers, coupled with Taiwan's competitiveness in rapid development of new products, the Taiwanese industry's share of the global PC system shipment is expected to continue to go upwards. This report profiles the current status and future development of PC systems in the global market and in the Taiwanese industry and analyzes some development issues that will likely become focus areas in the future.
